Visions’ Promotes Derek Garcia to Vice President/Chief Retail Officer
As CRO, Garcia is responsible for ensuring a holistically positive experience for all Visions members, as well as for their 300+ Branch and Contact Center employees. Garcia’s role provides a panoramic view of the larger cooperative through the perspective of these member-facing teams and requires an intimate understanding of how employees’ needs interact with members’ needs. Alongside member feedback, a large part of Garcia’s role has to do with employee feedback. “It’s important to remember that it’s not my voice, but the voice of the people I serve.”

Visions Hosts 60th Annual Meeting
Three directors were elected to Visions Federal Credit Union’s Board of Directors at its 60th Annual Meeting, held at Visions Headquarters in Endwell, NY. Joseph Lau was elected to a three-year term and Jill M. Bennedum and James J. Lewis were re-elected to three-year terms on the Board. At a special reorganization meeting held immediately following the Annual Meeting, the Board re-elected Christopher H. Marion as Chairperson, Mary C. Robinson as Vice Chairperson, Denise B. Stoughton as Treasurer, and Kelly A. Roche as Secretary of the Executive Committee. The Board appointed Charles R. Sebuharara as Associate Director.

Visions Teams up with Head Coach of the Syracuse Orange, Felisha Legette-Jack
Visions Federal Credit Union is partnering with Felisha Legette-Jack, head coach of Syracuse Universities’ Women’s Basketball team, with aspirations to bring financial wellness and growth to the Syracuse area – especially for those communities frequently left out of the conversation. In partnering with Legette-Jack, Visions will work towards creating a more welcoming environment for introducing money management to young women and girls, who are typically not taught or encouraged to learn about financial wellness the way men are.

Visions Celebrates Pioneering Astronaut Eileen Collins in Elmira College “SPACEWOMAN” Movie Screening
Visions Federal Credit Union recently had the honor of presenting astronaut and Elmira-native Colonel Eileen Collins for an advanced screening of her documentary, SPACEWOMAN, at Elmira College. Visions was able to bring this special event to the community thanks to their partnership with Syracuse University’s Office of Veteran and Military Affairs (OVMA).

Syracuse University's Whitman, Athletics, and Visions Federal Credit Union Team Up for Student Financial Success
Syracuse University Athletics, the Martin J. Visions developed the Visions Business Academy to deepen relationships with high schools within their three-state footprint and increase their community impact. Visions proudly announces that Tyrone Muse, President/CEO, has been awarded an honorary doctorate degree from Binghamton University. Muse was honored as Doctor of Humane Letters (LHD) during the university’s School of Management commencement ceremony in Vestal, NY.

Visions to Open Branch in Downtown Allentown
Earlier this year, Giant notified Visions that they would be relocating their Allentown facility, which provided Visions with the option to relocate as well. “We’ve been interested in finding a permanent, standalone location in Allentown for years,” said Derek Garcia, Visions’ AVP/Regional Member Service Officer of their Pennsylvania regional market. “When given the choice to either settle into another in-store branch or invest in our own property, we knew this was a perfect opportunity to plant stronger roots in this community.” The new, full-service branch will be at 27 N. 7th Street, Suite 110, in Allentown, PA.
