Out of town? No problem.
Introduction
There are dozens of reasons to love your credit union account – great rates, low fees, local service – but sometimes life will take you places where we don’t have an office. That’s where the Co-Op Credit Union shared branch network comes in.
With shared branching, you can access your Visions account nationwide – free of charge.
Plus, with over 30,000 ATMs and more than 5,000 branches available nationwide, finding a location is easy!
Here's how it works!
Let’s say you’re out of town and can’t find a nearby Visions location or ATM. You can walk into a participating credit union – a non-Visions location – and tell them you’re a Visions member and want to use their Shared Branch services. With valid ID, you could perform many of the same transactions you would at any dedicated Visions branch. As additional security for certain high-risk transactions, and enhanced ID Check process (outlined below) may be required for Visions members in Shared Branch locations.
For Co-Op ATM use, it's a similar experience. Simply swipe your Visions debit card at an eligible Co-Op Network ATM to get started!
With Shared Branching, you can:
- Deposit and withdraw cash
- Transfer between accounts
- Deposit your checks
- Purchase official checks and money orders
Enhanced ID Check Process
With account takeover fraud on the rise, we’ve added new ID-proofing security when accessing your account in person at our Shared Branch locations. A teller can identify and authenticate members with out-of-state IDs in the branch through a multi-factor authentication verification.
For instance, this additional layer of authentication is used for cash withdrawals for out-of-state, non-member transactions.
How the ID Check process works:
- Visit verify.coop.org or scan the QR code provided by the Shared Branch
- Select your credit union’s name from a drop-down list
- Enter your member number and the last four digits of your Social Security number
- Upload a photo of your qualifying ID
- Take a selfie
Pro tip: Save your validation for an even quicker experience next time! You could simply show your one-time passcode to the teller. Each passcode is valid for up to 20 minutes.
