Endwell, NY – Visions Federal Credit Union has promoted Mandy DeHate to the new position of Vice President/Chief Marketing Officer (CMO).
As CMO, DeHate is responsible for strategic direction/vision and oversight on all marketing and communications plans in support of credit union strategic objectives. She utilizes data-driven short- and long-term strategies to produce value for Visions’ membership and result in the long-term success of the credit union.
DeHate is a team-oriented marketing executive with 23 years of experience at Visions. She joined the Marketing and Business Development department within her first year at the credit union and has since worked as an analyst, assistant, manager, and, most recently, as AVP of Marketing for the last decade.
“I could have done marketing for any business, non-profit, or agency, but there’s nothing more fulfilling than marketing for credit unions,” says DeHate. “From our belief in ‘people helping people’ to empowering members to reach their best financial self, it’s easy to feel motivated and connected to the work we do.”
In 2017, she earned a designation from America’s Credit Unions (formerly CUNA) as a Credit Union Certified Marketing Executive™ (CUCME), a three-year certification program in strategic marketing, public relations, brand management, data, and leadership in credit union marketing. During her time in Marketing leadership, the business unit has expanded from five employees to over 20, who fill administrative roles and specialized teams that support creative communications, design, branding, events, corporate projects, marketing programs, community giveback, and more.
“I’ve been able to surround myself with a team of champions so I can focus on executing the strategy of delivering important messages to our communities and more than 250,000 members to support their financial needs,” DeHate said.
In addition to promoting their suite of financial products and services, DeHate’s teams oversee and execute several programs, such as Visions Cares, Visions Loves Educators, the Visions Veterans Program, and the Future Program for youth and young adults. Each program helps Visions to maximize their impact in their three-state footprint in New Jersey, New York, and Pennsylvania. As a prime example, Visions Cares is their charitable giving initiative, driving employee giveback and volunteerism as well as corporate donations and grants. Through Visions Cares, the credit union donates over $1 million per year to causes that directly impact the communities they serve.
“Being able to work under the direction of (President/CEO) Ty Muse, alongside a team of 23 bright and talented individuals, and trusted partners is invigorating,” says DeHate. “I’m excited for what’s to come as our cooperative is in a position to help more people, strengthen our community relationships, and increase our visibility as a financial powerhouse.”
