"For two decades, I've practiced law in rooms where I was often the unexpected answer and I've used that vantage point to widen the door for others. In my first year at a major law firm, I spearheaded our involvement in diversity job fairs, which brought Black and Latino law students into the firm's summer internship program. I went on to senior in-house roles at multi-billion-dollar retailers and global manufacturers, and now serve as Principal of my own fractional general counsel practice. What I'm proudest of, though, isn't the title progression it's the people I've gotten to support and learn from along the way: a young Black woman I mentored through law school, now practicing in Florida; an Asian woman leading at the forefront of EdTech; a fitness franchise founder scaling a multi-location business; and an African entrepreneur growing agricultural enterprises across the continent. The career I'm most proud of looks nothing like the linear path I was told to aim for. To the women in this community: build the practice you'd want to hire. Take the seat before someone offers it. And when you reach a height you weren't supposed to reach, hold the door open behind you wide enough for the women coming next to walk alongside, not single file."
Robyn Davis has built a distinguished legal career spanning more than 25 years across industries including technology, retail, manufacturing, and financial services. A graduate of the University of Virginia School of Law, she founded ProBiz Law, a boutique legal practice serving businesses, entrepreneurs, and nonprofits.
Robyn's career includes partnership at Freeborn & Peters, an AmLaw 200 firm, senior in-house counsel roles at Fortune 250 companies such as Hill's Pet Nutrition and Circuit City, and legal positions with foreign-headquartered companies including Schott North America and Prezzee, Inc. She is currently licensed in New Jersey, Connecticut, the District of Columbia, and Missouri, with expertise in commercial transactions, corporate governance, M&A, and compliance.
An active civic leader, Robyn recently completed six years on the Ridgewood YMCA Board, including service as Board Chair, and currently serves on the Board of the League of Women Voters of Ridgewood. A longtime member of Visions Federal Credit Union, she is honored to serve on their NJ Advisory Council.
