SADDLE BROOK, NJ – The New Jersey Sister Society of the Global Women's Leadership Network (GWLN) held its first official meeting earlier this summer. The meeting marked the return of GWLN to the state since the former NJ Sister Society, or chapter, had dissolved prior to the pandemic.

More than a dozen women from eight credit unions attended the kickoff meeting, which was led by Co-Chairs Ada Myteberi, AVP/Regional Member Services Officer for Visions Federal Credit Union, and Pamela Cohen, SVP/People and Culture Administrator for Affinity Federal Credit Union. The NJ Sister Society intends to be a gateway to education, resources, and mentoring for women in the credit union industry.

"Credit unions are about people helping people, so extending a helping hand to fellow women comes second nature to us," said Myteberi. "Pam and I knew that this network could fill a void for the collaboration and empowerment of women throughout our state, especially by connecting us to other chapters and resources all over the world."

GWLN is represented by Sister Societies in 28 countries and touts a diverse representation of women across the credit union movement. The NJ Sister Society invites credit union professionals to visit cuwomen.org to become a member or learn more.
