This important group of volunteers oversees our Auditing Department and reviews a number of internal controls that are essential to the safety and security of credit union assets. Their attention to detail and regulatory compliance provide peace of mind that we consistently maintain our security and integrity as your trusted financial partner.

Why did you decide to serve?

"I have given back to my community in a variety of ways for many years and was intrigued by the call for volunteers I saw from the credit union, so when the opportunity arose I submitted an application. I enjoy giving back to the community in a unique way with an organization that truly builds capacity in the communities that we live in and serve."

What do you enjoy most about being a committee member?

"I most enjoy the connections and friendships that I have made with staff and other volunteers – it is a welcoming team environment. I have also found the professional development very beneficial by expanding my understanding of financial institutions, how they work, and what my role is in them. This volunteer service has been beneficial to me both personally and professionally, a unique combination."

Why did you decide to serve?

"I decided to serve with Visions Federal Credit Union because of their vision and community involvement. It’s rare to see an event within my community that isn’t sponsored by Visions. As a member, I saw this role as an opportunity to learn more about Visions and get involved."

What do you enjoy most about being a committee member?

"I enjoy the connections I have made on the Supervisory Committee and the learning opportunities that go with serving. I have expanded my knowledge and learned more about the operations of a not-for-profit financial institution that is member-owned."

Why did you decide to serve?

"Having been a lifelong credit union member, I've always believed in the unique value and community-focus that credit unions have. With my background as a public servant and my ongoing dedication to being an active and positive community contributor, joining the Supervisory Committee of Visions felt like a natural step. I saw it as an opportunity to blend my experience in public service and technology with my commitment to fostering community growth, ensuring that the voice of every member is heard and represented."

What do you enjoy most about being a committee member?

"What I enjoy most about being a member of the Supervisory Committee is the tangible impact I can make in ensuring that Visions remains true to its mission: providing value and relevance to members, offering opportunities for employees, and remaining a beacon of positive impact in the community. Being part of a team that prioritizes "people helping people" and being in a position to safeguard and uphold that principle is deeply fulfilling. Additionally, the continuous learning, collaboration, and the chance to engage with diverse perspectives have been incredibly enriching. I'm excited about the future, and I'm optimistic about the greater roles I can play in serving our community through Visions."

"I'm a retired attorney. Over the course of my career, I had many professional interactions with the credit union and came to appreciate what a well-run financial institution it is."

What do you enjoy most about being a committee member?

"I especially enjoy learning more about the inner workings of the credit union and meeting the various personnel who contribute to its success."

"I had been a long-time member and always appreciated what Visions did for our community. When the opportunity arose, I thought it would be good for me to lend my expertise to further Visions mission and continue assisting the members in our area."

"I enjoy working with the great staff at Visions and helping them achieve the goals for the credit union by helping our members."

"Firstly, I wanted to honor my late husband’s contribution to Visions as a member of the IT staff. Second, it’s an opportunity to use skills and knowledge that I’ve acquired in my own career over the last 30 years."

"When I received the Visions newsletter, it mentioned they were looking for volunteers. I was excited to see the opportunity to contribute to Visions' mission and make an impact, so I completed the application online – and here I am!"

"What I enjoy most about being a Supervisory Committee member is learning how a larger organization develops and implements a professional system of oversight and accountability while maintaining a culture of positivity, cohesive health, and growth. Also, I've enjoyed meeting and getting to know the quality people that create the parts of the credit union as a whole, from the CEO to the Board, to our members."
