Sussex County, NJ – For the third year, Visions Federal Credit Union showed their support for the youth of Sussex County through a $10,000 donation to the Center for Prevention and Counseling's Taking Flight to Change, Positive School Climate Summit.

The Summit took place on October 25th at Sparta High School. The chosen theme for the year was Kindness Matters – Always and In All Ways, featuring speaker Kyle Scheele and singer/songwriter Jared Campbell. In all, the event reached over 900 Sussex County middle school students with a message of confidence, motivation, and skill-based teaching to help them be positive student leaders and role models in their school environments.

The Taking Flight to Change, Positive School Climate Summit – now in its 19th year – has impacted more than 18,000 middle and high school students since 2001. Each year, middle school students are joined by high school mentors, who guide the younger students in ways to combat bullying and foster a positive school climate.

"Our goal at Visions is to create stronger, healthier, and more vibrant communities no matter where we are," said Tim Strong, Visions' Community Development Manager. "Change like that starts with the youngest members of our communities, and I'm proud that we're able to make an impact in these students' lives."
