ITHACA, NY – The Tompkins Chamber is excited to announce its new Member of the Week program sponsored by Visions Federal Credit Union. Each week, one of the 700+ Tompkins Chamber members will be recognized with a feature story on WENY NY Local News, an advertisement in Tompkins Weekly, and a plaque produced by The Frame Shop.

"We're so grateful for Visions Federal Credit Union and their interest in helping the Chamber highlight our members," said Dominick Recckio, Director of Strategic Communications & Partnerships at the Tompkins Chamber. "We're so proud of the great work that our members do, and these partnerships with WENY, Tompkins Weekly, and The Frame Shop are an exciting way to showcase them to our community and the region." The Tompkins Chamber will share the Member of the Week story through its social media, website, and in their member newsletter each week.

The plaque that each awardee will receive states "We Think You're Gorges," a nod to the popular "Ithaca is Gorges" slogan and features a local waterfall and the name of the awardee.

Dan Spence, Business Development Manager for Visions said, "Visions Federal Credit Union is pleased to partner with the Tompkins County Chamber of Commerce on their Member of the Week program. The synergy between our two organizations is strong because we like to celebrate our members almost as much as the Chamber likes to celebrate theirs. This partnership is a natural fit and we couldn't be happier to help them highlight a deserving business each week." Visions Federal Credit Union is planning to open their first branch in Tompkins County in 2020.

WENY Local Ithaca opened its studio in Downtown Ithaca in 2018, committing even more coverage to news in Tompkins County. Tammy Haskell, WENY NY Local Ithaca General Manager said, "NY Local Ithaca powered by WENY News is thrilled to participate and celebrate our fellow Tompkins County Chamber Members each week with the "We Think Your Gorges Award."

The Member of the Week segments will air from Wednesdays to Sundays on WENY (channel 11 on Spectrum, live streaming at www.weny.com and will be archived on WENY's website, and on the Tompkins Chamber website at www.tompkinschamber.org/member-of-the-week/.
