Visions is very active in the communities where we do business. To support the towns and organizations Visions
staff volunteered to participate in local parades.
Visions' Employees Showcase their Talents for Waterman
The birdhouses that survived the flood, like the one pictured above, were not in saleable condition.
After a little TLC from Visions’ employees, these 168 birdhouses are ready for occupants!
During the June 2006 flood, Waterman Conservation Education Center in Apalachin, NY suffered extreme damage to a large supply of birdhouses that were being stored for their gift shop. The birdhouses were dried out from the water damage they suffered, but were still in desperate need of cleaning and refinishing before they were ready for sale.
A group of 30 highly talented and creative Visions employees took the damaged birdhouses and turned them into beautiful works of art – 168 beautiful works of art to be exact! (Visions was also aided in their efforts by the Roosa family of Apalachin who put many hours of labor into this project.)
Visions was very happy to lend a hand to the Waterman Center and would like the community to know these birdhouses are available for purchase in the Waterman ‘Nature Store’ for only $7! All proceeds support the Waterman Center, so stop in and choose your favorite design (while supplies last) –a great gift for any bird-loving friend or family member.

Visions Holds Shredding Event
On Saturday, April 21 from 10am - 2pm Visions sponsored two Community Shredding Events - one held in Endwell at Credit Union Center and the other in Horseheads at the Village/Jubilee Plaza. Over13,000 lbs of paper were collected and shredded on site. Community members drove up with their boxes of confidential papers, and were assisted by the helpful team of Visions and Confidata employees, and then witnessed the onsite shredding process. Due to the over - whelming response additional shedding events will be scheduled at various locations in our communities through the upcoming year.
WSKG Auction
Visions, in conjunction with other credit unions in the Southern Tier, answered phones and took bids at the WSKG Auction held on May 10th. Pictured above is Visions employee, Ann Ellis, Member Service Representative, taking a phone bid from a WSKG supporter.
Heart Walk
Eighty-two credit union staff, volunteers, family members, and friends participated in the 2007 American Heart Association Southern Tier Heart Walk on Sunday, April 29th. This year the event was held at the Johnson City Middle School. Total funds raised were over $10,400.
Adding to the fun was Visions new youth mascot Kirby Kangaroo who helped serve popcorn and pose for pictures.
Credit Unions Participate in Rocker-thon
For the seventh straight year the Southern Tier Credit Unions (including Visions FCU) took first place honors in the Mom’s House Rocker-thon. The credit unions raised over $1700. Participants rocked in chairs of all shapes and sizes while being entertained by a local DJ who organized fun and games for all ages.
Mom’s House is a non-profit, state licensed day care center that provides free day care services for single parents who are full time students.

Visions Credit Union Supports Local ARC
For the past several years Visions FCU has participated in the Annual ARC Pin Crushing Bowling Tournament that supports the Broome/Tioga ARC Day Habilitation Program. Again this year Assemblyman Clifford Crouch was the Honorary Chairman of the event. Visions FCU sponsored two teams of employee volunteer bowlers; it’s safe to say there was a little friendly competition going on. In fact, Becky Barrett, from our Lockheed Martin Branch, won both Women’s High Single with a 205 and Women’s High Triple with a 599.
Special thanks to Assemblyman Clifford Crouch, for his great job as Honorary Chairman, and to his continued support for credit unions and for realizing the difference they make in the communities that we serve. Visions FCU is proud to support an organization that means so much to him in return.
